I built and continue to develop a three-language education ecosystem for the Dutch-language school Edu-Dutch - from custom WordPress websites and an advanced e-learning platform to a fully featured online course store.

About the Project
Edu-Dutch is a Dutch-language school for Polish people living in the Netherlands and students learning from Poland. Founded by Kinga Fiebig and Jelmer, it offers group and individual courses, an e-learning platform and educational materials.
I built three independent WordPress installations - edu-dutch.pl, edu-dutch.com and edu-dutch.nl - each with its own navigation, products and market-specific content.
I designed and developed the custom LearnDash-based Academie student dashboard, including visual course listings, exams with automatically generated PDF certificates and dedicated course and group management tools.
I launched an extensive WooCommerce store for group, individual and e-learning courses, books, Stripe and iDEAL payments, pricing variants and subscriptions.
I also delivered a custom B2B progress-reporting plugin, completed the digital rebrand and supported the client during its NRTO certification audit.
My cooperation has continued since July 2025. Through regular status meetings and ongoing development, I effectively act as the client’s external IT department.
Solution
My goal was to create a complete online ecosystem supporting the full student journey - from the first website visit through purchase to learning on the platform.
I created three consistent yet independent services. Each language version has its own WordPress installation, custom theme, products and student dashboard.
The custom Academie dashboard brings purchased courses, progress, learning materials and visual course tiles together in one intuitive interface.
I integrated Stripe and iDEAL payments, built an intelligent placement test and automated progress reports for companies enrolling employees in language courses.
I migrated all three services from shared hosting to a dedicated VPS, gaining full control over performance, configuration and security.
The result is a scalable education ecosystem that Edu-Dutch can manage independently and grow across three markets without technical barriers.
Tools Used
The platform combines proven e-commerce and e-learning tools with custom code to stay flexible for the client and scalable from a technical perspective.
Custom WordPress theme: a Figma-based theme optimized for presenting courses and maintaining a consistent experience across all language versions.
LearnDash with a custom student dashboard: the Academie interface, exams with automatic PDF certificates, and dedicated course and group management.
WooCommerce with Stripe and iDEAL: four product types, price variants, subscriptions and a checkout tailored to every language version.
Custom plugins: placement testing, B2B progress reporting, an email-signature generator and role-based user redirects.
VPS and infrastructure: server, email, domain and security management for all three websites.
Working with Esumo on the new Edu-Dutch website and e-learning platform was one of the best decisions we made. From the start, we could rely on professional guidance, excellent communication and timely delivery.
