About the Project
Świat Podłóg is a leader in the Polish flooring distribution market with over 30 years of experience. As a technology partner of the design agency Webrace, they approached me with the need to launch a new website and migrate from their previous platform while maintaining high rankings on Google.
I carried out a comprehensive migration from the old website, implementing carefully planned redirects, which allowed me to preserve 100% of the site’s visibility and organic traffic.
I built an extensive product catalog that visually surpasses the standards of most online stores in the industry, with dedicated subpages for each category and product.
I created a unique system for ordering free samples with a proprietary ZIP code verification feature that automatically limits the delivery area to the client’s service area.
I integrated the website with Google Maps by implementing an interactive map showing the locations of 10 company showrooms in Warsaw.
My collaboration is ongoing. I provide ongoing technical support and implement new features, developing the platform in line with the client’s current business needs.
Solution
I focused on creating a platform that is not only a showcase but, above all, a flexible and fully editable business tool. The goal was to provide the client with 100% autonomy in managing an extensive product catalog.
I gave the client full control over the content. Thanks to the implementation of a flexible structure based on Advanced Custom Fields, 100% of the content visible on the site can be easily edited from the WordPress dashboard.
I carried out a seamless migration. Working closely with the client’s SEO agency, I planned and implemented a redirect structure that fully protected the site’s rankings on Google.
I implemented a smart sample ordering system. I created a proprietary solution that automatically verifies the ZIP code and limits shipping to the region specified by the client.
I implemented automatic translations. Due to the vast amount of content, I used Google Translate as a cost-effective solution that allows the company to serve international customers.
The result of my work is a professional product catalog that has become a key tool supporting sales and the completion of over 3,000 projects annually, strengthening Świat Podłóg’s position as a leader in its industry.
Tools Used
For this project, I relied on proven and flexible WordPress-based solutions to create an advanced product catalog that is fully editable and optimized for SEO.
Custom WordPress Theme: I built a custom theme from scratch that perfectly replicates the graphic design provided by the client and is optimized for presenting an extensive catalog.
Advanced Custom Fields (ACF): I implemented the Advanced Custom Fields plugin, which gave the client the ability to independently edit 100% of the content on the site, from product descriptions down to the smallest details.
Strategic SEO Optimization: In collaboration with the client’s SEO agency, I planned and implemented a 301 redirect structure and structured product data to fully safeguard the site’s search rankings during the migration.
Integrations with external APIs: I integrated the website with the Google Maps API to display a map of showrooms, and I developed a custom solution for verifying ZIP codes in the sample ordering system.
